Claude Gonvierre Clocktower Tee
One of Oakdale’s most fascinating residents was concert pianist Claude Gonvierre.
Gonvierre lived inside the Idle Hour Artist Colony’s iconic Clocktower, where he became known not only for his music, but for restoring the tower’s massive clock mechanism and helping preserve one of Oakdale’s most storied landmarks.
Music regularly echoed through the Idle Hour Artists' Colony, and many local residents remember taking piano lessons inside the Clocktower itself.
This t-shirt was inspired by a 1951 Christmas card created by Claude Gonvierre.
Today, the Clocktower remains one of the last surviving pieces of Oakdale’s forgotten artistic past, and Claude Gonvierre remains one of the most intriguing figures connected to its history.
Every shirt purchased helps preserve a piece of Oakdale history — $5 from every tee sold will be donated to the Oakdale Historical Society to support local preservation efforts and keep our community’s stories alive.
